Steps to cancel Amazon Prime
- Sign in to Amazon and open Manage Prime Membership (amazon.com/mc, or the same page on amazon.co.uk / amazon.de).
- Choose Manage membership, then End membership, and step through the confirmation screens until you see that it has ended.
- Refunds depend on what you’ve used. If nobody on the account has used Prime benefits since the last charge, Amazon refunds that fee in full. In the US there’s also a 3-business-day window after first joining, or after a free trial turns paid (not after every renewal), but Amazon can take off the value of benefits used in that time. In the UK/EU a 14-day withdrawal right applies when you first join, and Amazon may give a partial refund based on use.
- If you joined Prime through Google Play on Android, cancel it in Google Play subscriptions. If Prime comes through another company (phone carrier or similar), cancel with that company. Prime isn’t sold as an Apple in-app purchase.

Signed up in Germany? The cancel button
If you live in Germany and signed up for Amazon Prime directly on its website, German law has required businesses that let you sign up online to offer a cancellation button there since July 1, 2022. If a business doesn’t offer one, you may cancel at any time without notice.
Since June 19, 2026, contracts signed on a business’s website or app can also be withdrawn during the withdrawal period with a button such as “Vertrag widerrufen” (withdraw from contract). Withdrawing undoes a contract you just signed; it is not the same as canceling.
