Steps to cancel HBO Max

HBO Max was called Max before.

1. Sign in at hbomax.com, pick your profile and open Subscription. The top of that page says who bills you.
2. If HBO Max bills you directly, choose Cancel Your Subscription and confirm before the next billing date.
3. If Apple bills you, cancel in iOS Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. For Amazon, Google Play, Roku or a TV provider, cancel with that provider.
4. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel. You keep access until the paid period ends. On the UK 12-⁠month Saver plan, canceling stops renewal, but the remaining monthly payments for that year are still due and access lasts until the year ends.

Paying through Apple?

If you subscribed in the iPhone or iPad app, Apple may bill you instead of the provider. Then you cancel in your iPhone or iPad settings, not with the provider and not inside the app.

1. Open Settings and tap your name
2. Tap Subscriptions
3. Choose the subscription you want to end
4. Tap Cancel Subscription

For free trials, Apple advises canceling at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
